Coach K

Media reports circulated on Thursday that Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski (affectionately known as Coach K since nobody knows how to pronounce his name) had blasted President Barack Obama for selecting North Carolina to win the 2009 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament over Duke.

"Somebody said that we're not in President Obama's Final Four, and as much as I respect what he's doing, really, the economy is something that he should focus on, probably more than the brackets," ... Krzyzewski said with a laugh from the Blue Devils' first-round site in Greensboro, N.C.

Ouch!

But Coach K later brushed off the media buzz, saying he thought President Obama was "gonna be great", presumably for the country, not for his Final Four predictions.

Some of the headlines were creative, especially in the more conservative leaning press:  "Duke Coach Slam Dunks Obama".
