The Clippers and Jazz have agreed to a sign-and-trade deal involving Russell Westbrook, who is expected to join the Nuggets after Utah waives the former MVP and buys out the remainder of his contract, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Clippers are reportedly sending Westbrook, a second-round draft pick swap and cash to the Jazz for guard Kris Dunn.
Westbrook averaged a career-low 11.1 points per game for the Clippers last season but is sure to improve the Nuggets already good odds of winning another NBA championship in 2025.
The Nuggets had the second shortest odds of winning (+850) though double that of the Celtics, who were odds-on favorites at +315 at BetUS.
"Westbrook may not longer be the league scoring leader he was back with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2017, but he will provide veteran ball-handling on the Nuggets' reserves as the team hopes for his shooting to bounce back during his age-36 season," writes Julia Stumbaugh of the Bleacher Report.
