Denver Broncos -6.5, total 43

Vikings Gaining Momentum

The Minnesota Vikings are 2-1 straight up and against the NFL betting point spread with all three of their games going over the total. The Vikings are coming off 31-14 home win over the San Diego Chargers whish served as a wakeup call for the NFC North that the Green Bay Packers may have a contending rival. Despite their new found success the Vikings still have problems to work out starting with an offense that ranks 29th overall in the NFL. The defense has been a pleasant surprise with a ranking of fifth in the NFL for points allowed. Quarterback teddy Bridgewater is off to a strong start of 94.1 as a QB rating and that has been the most encouraging sign of Vikings resurgence but the 20-3 opening night loss at San Francisco remains an eyesore.

Manning Up

The Broncos are 3-0 both straight up and against the spread with two out of their three games going under the total. Manning may have a QB rating of 74.2 but has come up clutch when it has mattered most. Defense has been the bedrock of Denver’s foundation however as the Broncos rank as the top defensive unit in the NFL and rank fourth overall for points allowed. Denver is coming off a 24-12 win at the Detroit Lions which followed a 31-24 win at the division rival Kansas City Chiefs in a miraculous comeback in the final two minutes.

Game Notes

Denver has covered the NFL betting point spread in five out of their last eight home games with three out of their last four home games gong under the total at the online sportsbook. Minnesota has covered the spread in four out of their last six away games with five out of their last six away games going under the NFL football betting total.
