As of June 3, bookies serving the Oakland A’s fans were getting pounded pretty hard as that team was riding a 5-game win streak.  They were 25-29.

The A’s bullpen was 1-0 with a 0.98 ERA over their last 18 1/3 innings with 19 strikeouts and three walks entering this series.

The UNDER is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams played in Houston.

The Athletics Probable Starting Pitchers:

Jesse Hahn - (2-2, 4.15) – Friday June 3 - Hahn (2-2) surrendered five hits, three earned runs and four walks over six innings in Saturday's 12-3 blowout victory over the Tigers. He struck out five. (Sun May 29).  He is 1-1 with a 2.13 ERA in two career starts against the Astros.

Kendall Graveman (2-6, 5.09) – Sunday June 5 - Graveman is the top candidate to start Saturday should Rich Hill (groin) get pushed back from his scheduled outing, Joe Stiglich of CSN Bay Area reports.  As of Friday he was slated to start on Sunday.

Ways for A’s bookies to reduce their losses in 2016:

*Provide your players with live in-play betting through use of a proven offshore Pay Per Head provider such as Gambling911.com endorsed PerHead.com.

*Let your players bet futures for the A’s to win the 2016 World Series.  The odds of this happening are slim.  But a few diehards will put money on it happening just as long as you are willing to take their bet.

*Trust the Pay Per Head linesmakers.  You may find a line for a particular starting pitcher a little too attractive to sports bettors but there may be a reason behind this (Pitcher A past performance versus a particular team or left-handers).

*Encourage other forms of gambling such as player prop bets, parlays and totals wagering.
