Dolphins Escape with Opening Week Win

The Miami Dolphins didn’t play that well last week but thanks to a fourth quarter punt return by Jarvis Landry they pulled out a 17-10 win at Washington. The defense for the Dolphins carried the team as the offense with Ryan Tannehill did very little. Tannehill was sacked three times and the running game with Lamar Miller did very little. The Dolphins benefited from playing a weak Redskins team and they get a break again in Week 2 as they face a poor Jacksonville team.

Jaguars Disappointing Again

The Jaguars were thought to be improved this season but they looked bad in their opener as they fell 20-9 to Carolina. The offense didn’t do much with the one bright spot being the running of T.J. Yeldon. The team could still be without wide receiver Marqise Lee while tight end Julius Thomas is out so the offense may continue to struggle. Quarterback Blake Bortles was just 22 of 40 and head coach Gus Bradley said that Bortles needs to play better going forward. The one positive for the Jaguars was their defense that kept them in the game despite the lack of offense.
