As far as the oddsmakers are concerned, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has already won the Texas Democratic Primary.  The Texas Republican Primary is a whole different animal with most polls showing Texas Senator Ted Cruz leading by only a few points while others have him essentially tied with real estate mogul Donald Trump.

Oddsmakers give great value to Trump, paying $5 for every $2 bet compared to Cruz requiring a $4 wager to win $1.

Trump vs. Cruz will most certainly be the race to watch this upcoming Super Tuesday where some dozen states hold primaries or caucuses.

A poll conducted by Monmouth University on February 22-24 had Cruz with a 15 percentage lead over Trump while an Emerson poll had Cruz with just a one point lead over Trump.

“It's decent ground for Donald Trump because he's a national candidate who's touched a nerve everywhere, but it displays a little bit of a home-field advantage for Ted Cruz," said Daron Shaw, government professor at the University of Texas at Austin and co-director of the poll.

Both candidates are expected to roughly split the state's 155 Republican nominating delegates though a loss for Cruz could force him out of the race.
