The U.S.-Venezuela-Greenland news cycle has been incessant since the weekend.

Because of that, we're dishing out non-stop props surrounding the global saga.

BetOnline.ag has posted odds for which country the U.S. will attack/invade next, where Nicolas Maduro will be located next year and who will be leading the country of Venezuela in 2027.

BetOnline not offering odds on Venezuela is telling as one prediction market takes heat for claiming what transpired over the weekend in that Latin American nation was not an "invasion" and won't pay out.

Polymarket claims it was not an "invasion", and that is certainly debatable.  Even US President Donald Trump's cabinet is giving mixed signals.

Polymarket wrote:

This market refers to U.S. military operations intended to establish control. President Trump’s statement that they will “run” Venezuela while referencing ongoing talks with the Venezuelan government does not alone qualify the snatch-and-extract mission to capture Maduro as an invasion.

Even the New York Post is ganging up on Polymarket Wednesday.

And then there was tthis from pheonic on X

Polymarket refused to pay out winnings to users who bet on an invasion of Venezuela, explaining that the kidnapping of the president does not constitute establishing control over the territory.

This decision caused discontent among users, especially after an anonymous participant earned more than $400,000 on a bet on the invasion.

Moving on to Iran, the country's army chief threatened a preemptive attack over the ‘rhetoric’ targeting his country after Trump’s recent warnings to Iran that the U.S. would intervene if Iranian authorities violently repress protesters.

The comments by Maj. Gen. Amir Hatami come as Iran tries to respond to what it sees as a dual threat posed by Israel and the United States.

The situation in Iran remains unstable.

Seeking to halt the anger, Iran’s government began Wednesday paying the equivalent of $7 a month to subsidize rising costs for dinner table essentials like rice, meat and pastas. Shopkeepers warn prices for items as basic as cooking oil likely will triple under pressure from the collapse of Iran’s rial currency and the end of a preferential subsidized dollar-rial exchange rate for importers and manufacturers — likely fueling further popular anger.

“More than a week of protests in Iran reflects not only worsening economic conditions, but longstanding anger at government repression and regime policies that have led to Iran’s global isolation,” the New York-based Soufan Center think tank said.
