Obamacare Odds: November Enrollment Numbers Total Set at 169,440

Gambling911.com has released odds on Obamacare enrollment numbers for the month of November with an OVER/UNDER of 169,440 -110 both ways (*for entertainment purposes only).

Before the October 1 website launch became a debacle, internal administration memos anticipated 494,620 enrollees in October and 706,000 in November nationwide.  October numbers came in at a measly 40,000.

“October’s results were just 8 percent of forecast, which is pretty lousy,” notes Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.  “The target number, or total, is boosted based on the assumption that more Americans will be able to access the Healthcare.gov website.  With millions of policies being cancelled, it is anticipated that a good chunk of these individuals will find a way to enroll as well.”

Just 106,000 Americans successfully signed up in October for health coverage.

“Assuming the website is working to some extent, we would anticipate at least half of this group to fully enroll in Obamacare,” says Shapiro.

President Barack Obama on Thursday acknowledged missteps with his signature healthcare law.  He announced that health insurers could extend by at least one year policies due to be canceled because they do not comply with new minimum requirements under the law.  Obama cannot force the insurance carriers to maintain the policies, however.

Insurers have suggested that the President’s plan could create new problems and lead to higher premiums.
