Obama Online Odds Now at 1-2 at Sportsbook

In a sign that the US Presidential race is starting to shift in favor of the GOP, Sportsbook.com has released odds on President Barack Obama that have him about to fall below 1/2 for the first time in the past three months.

Obama’s odds were listed right at 1/2.  They had previously been at close to 1/3 earlier in September.

“The trend is for this number to drop to -180 by week’s end,” remarked Carrie Stroup, Senior Reporter for the Gambling911.com website, who also co-functions as a representative/host of Sportsbook.com (also known as Sportsbook.ag).

The payout on Mitt Romney would be US$16 for every US$10 bet.

President Obama is currently the most wagered on bet offer at Sportsbook due mostly to the amount of action taken over an extended period of time when compared to upcoming NFL games.  As such, these odds measure the sentiment of the public over a period of time versus a short-term poll sampling.  Many experts believe that online prediction markets like Sportsbook.com provide a more accurate assessment than polling data.

Romney received a boost last week following a strong debate showing whereby the President was widely criticized for coming out flat and appearing disinterested.
