Last week, Zynga founder Mark Pincus (pictured) confirmed the social media firm was exploring “real money” online poker ventures.

In regard to Washington lobbying on the subject of legalized Web poker, Pincus told CNBC "we'd like to participate in the conversation."

In recent months, rumors have circulated that Zynga could partner with an established US-based casino giants, specifically Wynn Resorts, to offer “real cash” online poker.

Federal legislation is currently on the table while two states, Nevada and Delaware, have already passed laws allowing “real money” Internet poker within their state borders.  Delaware has hinted at multi-state compacts similar to that of the state lottery game Powerball.
