What's Up With those Crown Coins Better Business Bureau Complaints? Update

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. (Gambling911.com) - Crown Coins is considered a leader in the US-facing sweepstakes casino sector with its site frequently appearing atop affiliate-created content appearing all over news feeds, often via real local city and regional digital newspaper feeds.

The Better Business Bureau previously assigned Crown Coins an F rating following hundreds of complaints (363 to be exact), many involving withdrawals. Crown Coins attributes unsuccessful redemptions to verification problems or terms-of-service violations. These are disputed allegations, not established findings that the company withheld legitimate winnings.  Nonetheless, the BBB found the complaints serious enough to warrant the inclusion.

Unlike a real money online casino, sweepstakes - or social casinos - is an online platform that allows users to play casino-style games, including slots, bingo, table games, and even live casino games, using virtual currency instead of real money.   These types of online casinos rely on additional real money purchases once the free play component is exhausted.  In contrast, real money online casinos require a small deposit that can be increased through wins.  Free play and cash bonuses are typically offered as well.

The duel-currency model has come under fire in a handful of US states, most recently Oklahoma, which vows to file criminal charges against sweepstakes casino operators targeting Oklahoma residents through a new law that goes into effect November 1.  The new law is one of a kind that even applies to social media influencers.

The redemption delays continue into the month of November.

From TrustPilot:

""I was not happy with the long delay this time on my Redemptions. I have not received them all yet. It has never taken so long. 6 days!"

"Love the site but faster redemptions would be nice."

"I wish the redemptions were processed quickly. Waiting 2-3 days can be frustrating."

Customers do appear to get paid, Crown Coins is mostly attentive on forums and social media platforms responding to the redemption complaints, and some appear to be hitting faster than others.

"Cashed out $1,050 on Friday 10/16 in 4 different redemptions. One of those which was $500 was approved and in my bank account that same day. The other 3 have been in progress more than 75 hours now. I have never had this many issues with a redemption on this site. I have an open ticket with support but so far no response. I inquired on one of the redemptions yesterday and was told it was approved Friday morning, but it still shows in progress on the app."
