Phil Hellmuth Curse

The World Series of Poker 11-time bracelet winner, Phil Hellmuth, will be making his grand appearance this year's World Series of Poker Europe on Saturday, September 26th, 2009 at The Casino of the Empire, located at 5-6 Leicester Square.  Hellmuth, at least for 15 minutes, will be bigger in London than the queen.

But what about the Phil Hellmuth Curse?  Will it follow him over the big pond?

The curse in question was Hellmuth's terrible luck throughout July's World Series of Poker event in Las Vegas where he only managed a meager $70,000 and some change in winnings.  Compare that with the couple hundred thousand he typically wins each year in these events.   Hellmuth was also observed by Gambling911.com embodying negative energy via his Twitter page.

Hellmuth last year finished 12th at the WSOPE H.O.R.S.E Championship, and that was all she wrote.

Hellmuth is already off to a bad start in England.  On his Twitter page he writes:

"Lasted 81 mins in first WSOPE NLH tourn. My old nemesis got me: no patience! Blinds $25-$25 with $3,000. Didn't play well, now feeling blue."

Blue?  This is no time to be feeling blue Phil.  You need to be feeling GREEN.....Green representing all that money you are going to be winning.  We know you can do it Phil!  Keep your head held high.  Think positive.  You can do it!

Odds on the Phil Hellmuth curse still lingering into the 2009 World Series of Poker Europe final event:  1/20.
