Vladimir Troyanovskiy Leads EPT Grand Final 2014 After Day 3

PCA High Roller runner-up Vladimir Troyanovskiy is chip leader going in to Day 3 of the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final. There were 650 players this season (compared to 56 last year) generating a prize pool of €6.5 million. As well as a gigantic €1,240,000 first prize, the winner will also receive the coveted champion’s trophy as well a stunning watch from luxury Swiss brand SLYDE, the Official Watch Sponsor for EPT10 Main Events and High Rollers.

Troyanovskiy, who snagged $792,180 for his runner-up finish at the PCA last year (losing heads-up to Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst), also finished fifth in last season’s EPT Grand Final Super High Roller event for €339,500. He won his seat online on PokerStars and now leads the 123 remaining players with 450,500, just ahead of French player Idis Ambraisse who’s on 434,300. Norwegian Team PokerStars Pro Johnny Lodden is also in good shape with 326,500 while last night’s chip leader Hendrik Latz is also thriving on 278,400. Team PokerStars Pro Ville Wahlbeck, Angel Guillen, David Williams, Andre Akkari and PokerStars sponsored PCA champion Dominik Panka are also still in contention.

As in previous years, Russian, American and French players have dominated the event; there were 69 Russian entrants in the Main Event, 65 from the States and 64 from France – accounting for 34% of the field between them. There are also more nationalities at this year’s event– 68 compared to 56 last year, with an influx of new players from Asia having a big impact on the whole event. See below for nationalities pie chart

The PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final features 48 events between April 23-May 2 at the beautiful Monte Carlo Bay Hotel in Monaco.
