SuperStar Showdown Finally Gets Underway

After Internet connectivity issues forced a delay of the much anticipated PokerStars SuperStar Showdown between Isaac Haxton and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, the event was finally to get underway Tuesday (March 13, 2012) at 2 pm EST (6 pm GMT).

Set to play 2,500 hands against each other at double the previous stakes, Haxton’s Internet connection went down.

Call it an “Act of God” if you will.

Haxton explained the delay due to his Internet connectivity issues:  “I’m really sorry about all this. I know it’s ruining the flow of the match for spectators. To clarify the weather stuff: There was a really bad storm 2 days ago. My Internet was completely down for 2 hours and has been a little unstable ever since. I think something between the ISP and my apartment must have been damaged.”

The storms in question hit Haxton’s home base of Malta.
