Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Will Feature $10 Million Guarantee

The Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida, has announced it will be hosting a $10 million guarantee poker tournament this Aug. 22-29.  The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open will be one of the largest guarantees of the year and is certain to draw big name players from around the globe.  Gambling911.com, with headquarters nearby, will be in attendance.

While the granddaddy of poker tournaments, the World Series of Poker Main Event, did pay out $62 million last summer, there was no guarantee offered.

“This destination deserves a tournament like this,” said Larry Mullin, Seminole Gaming COO.

Hollywood, Florida is just 25 minutes by car from the bustling nightlife of Miami Beach.  The Hard Rock Casino and Hotel is just a few miles away from the Fort Lauderdale International Aiport.

Up until recently, slots and blackjack have been the primary focus of the Seminole Hard Rock with poker receiving little attention.

“The Hard Rock and the Seminoles serve as a global brand that will always be striving to bring the best in games, hospitality and entertainment to South Florida,” Mullin said. “As that leader, you can utilize events such as this one to remind people about what great products we have.”

Organizers will need to have some 2000 players attend the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open.

Not an easy task.  The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is currently playing host to a World Poker Tour event that has attracted just over 500 players.
