Poker pro Annie Duke has lashed out at PokerStars for its apparent defense of Daniel Negreanu calling her a “f***ing C***” last week during an interview.

Negreanu is a Team PokerStars player.

PokerStars defended Negreanu after a Women’s Poker League player wrote in to voice her disgust over the ill-conceived comment.

In an open letter to PokerStars, Annie Duke writes:

“I am shocked that PokerStars didn’t even distance themselves from Daniel’s comments in this response. In fact, they did quite the opposite. The most alarming part of the response is this section:”

She goes on to reference an excerpt from PokerStars response to the Women’s Poker League player.

‘…and as such will always be encouraged to express his views and speak his

mind as he would otherwise do so, PokerStars Pro or not.’

PokerStars launched the Women’s Poker League at the start of this month and the timing could not have been worse with Negreanu’s disparaging remark.

A number of female poker players have come to Duke’s defense.

Negreanu has told some media organizations that his comment was not meant for print, though he did say it.
