Chile Earthquake

The world's largest online poker room, PokerStars (see website here), has not had the best of luck in recent days.  Last Saturday, the European Poker Tour Berlin, which PokerStars sponsors, found itself at the center of a brazen armed robbery.  On Thursday, the online poker room decided to cancel its Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) Chile event in Vina del Mar slated to begin March 19.

Chile has been hit by a series of major earthquakes in recent weeks, including one that hit during Thursday's Presidential inauguration.

More than 500 people were killed during a massive 8-8 magnitude earthquake (and the generated tsunami) that hit Chile two weeks ago.

Those players already registered to participate in the LAPT Chile event will receive full refunds according to PokerStars.
