PokerStars Breaks Guinness World Record

They’ve done it again.  PokerStars has once again broken the Guinness World Record for the largest number of players in a single online poker tournament.  An amazing 200,000 players took part.

“Online poker is so popular because it allows anyone to compete in the same tournaments with the best players in the world, and gives them the opportunity to become champion poker stars,” said Fatima Moreira de Melo, Olympic Gold Medalist in Hockey and a member of Team PokerStars who plays online poker under the screen name “FatimaDeMelo”.

The celebration took place at the Prague Hilton, the latest stopover for the European Poker Tour.  Gaz Deaves, Guinness World Record Adjudicator, certified the record.

“sokoluk1991” from Russia became a tournament champion and walked away with the first prize after just over seven hours of play and an exciting final table – not bad for a $1 buy-in. Players from around the world came together for this historic tournament, underscoring the global popularity of online poker and demonstrating how the game transcends language and culture barriers.

….America’s Card Room is giving away tons of promotions for the month of December.  Play all December long and get a piece of $65,000 in cash. $10,000 for first place.   Plus.. $50,000 is on the line in a special guaranteed tourney one week before Christmas Day. Get details here>>>>>>
