In today’s poker tournament news we find that 'Brotha D' is the chip leader of the APPT Auckland Main Event final table as of September 19, 2010.  His real name is Danny Leaoasavaii.  Brotha D is often called the 'godfather of New Zealand hip-hop."

Brotha D has played on the tournament poker scene for the past four years, winning back-to-back SKYCITY Celebrity Invitational titles in 2009 and 2010. The minimum payout at the APPT Auckland is NZD $16,350, so he is already guaranteed the largest payout on the poker tournament scene.

Laak had just entered the £5,000 Pot Limit Omaha event.

He tweeted on Friday: “Still in the 5k plo. 35 left. Paying 18. Currently at 50% chip avg.”

He subsequently busted.
