Event #32: $125,000 Guaranteed NLH Main Event – ($100+9 buy-in)

This $100 entry Main Event saw nearly 1200 people take a seat on the virtual felt, so with that many entrants you knew it would be a long one. By the time the final hand was played, this tournament had been going on for nearly 12hours and for the winner; the $23,000 payday would be well worth it. It came down to JoshuaIron and ImASingleLady as they waged a heads-up battle that will be remembered by both for a while.

Joshualron had been building his chip lead as they played and with the blinds at 25k/50k, ImASingleLady had just over 400K in chips. There wasn’t a whole lot she could do but wait for a good hand and shove all-in and that’s what she did on the final hand. Q-9 suited was good enough for that move and Joshualron made the call with 8h,7s. The flop all but sealed the win for JoshuaIron as it came down Kh,8c,8d, giving him trips. Only a miracle runner-runner would save ImASingleLady but when the 4h fell on the turn it didn’t matter what the river brought. Congrats to JoshuaIron on winning Event #32.

Final Table Payouts and Prize Winners:

1 JoshuaIron $23125.00; 2 ImASingleLady $15737.50; 3 gogopackers $10312.50; 4 stackedLuke16 $7812.50; 5 fishydonk01 $5937.50; 6 Monopsonist $4687.50; 7 gaby888 $3750.00; 8 BananaSplitz $3000.00; 9 TiltMode420 $2375.00

Event #33: $125,000 Guaranteed NLH High Roller Main Event – ($500+30 buy-in)

This was the big event of the day and 239 players ponied up the large entry-fee for a shot at this title. With 20 minute blind levels and a deepstack structure, this tournament took about 9.5 hours to declare a champion as kkbubbletea, DirtyRock, and ROLDY14 were primed for a big pay day at the end.

This tournament wasn’t even at the heads-up stage when a winner was crowned as three-way action saw all three players look down at monster starting hands and decided to get it in. ROLDY14 had the chip lead and made a modest pre-flop raise with pocket Queens. The short stack DirtyRock decided to shove all in with Kc,Jh and was followed by kkbubbletea shoving over the top with big slick (As,Kd). With the opportunity to win this tournament right here, ROLDY14 called with his pocket queens and prayed for small cards.

The flop obliged, coming down 9s,7c,5c, and ROLDY14 only had to dodge two more cards to win this thing. Well, the turn and river were both 5’s giving him a full house, but more importantly giving his opponents nothing. ROLDY14 took down both pots, the Event#33 title, and over $30,000!

1 ROLDY14 $30500.00; 2 kkbubbletea $20250.00; 3 DirtyRock $12500.00; 4 yourHURT420 $9375.00; 5 BoutThaBenjamins $7750.00; 6 hard2bust0 $6250.00; 7 ontiltMoeRawn $5000.00; 8 thechipmunk $4000.00; 9 labyrinth77 $3125.00

Event #34: $15,000 Guaranteed NLH Micro Main Event – ($10+1 buy-in)

A $10 buy-in combined with a deepstack structure made this Main Event the most popular of the day. Nearly 2000 players (1932) entered this event, pushing the total pot to almost $20K and paying out the top 216 finishers. 11.5 hours later a winner was crowned, taking home $3100 in the process.

Garnet1178 and troubadour5 had outlasted the rest of this gigantic field to make the final two and both were set for a good payday of at least $2300. Yet, both players obviously wanted to win and played like it throughout the heads-up portion of this event.

The final hand saw both players see a flop for only the price of blinds and neither of them had a great hand. Garnet1178 was holding 3h,5c in the big blind and was happy to check after troubadour5 called the blind with 3s,7d. In heads-up play any hand can end the tournament and when the flop came down 4d,5h,6c, fireworks were bound to occur. Troubadour5 had flopped a straight and garnet1178 had middle pair with a straight draw. After a bet, raise and re-raise, troubadour5 shoved all in and got the call from garnet1178. The turn card was a 3c giving garnet1178 hope for a full house with another 5, but the Ah fell on the river, making troubadour5’s straight the best hand and giving him the title.

Final table results:

1 troubadour5 $3110.14; 2 garnet1178 $2318.41; 3 onepoor5fig $1738.81; 4 trevorj414 $1255.81; 5 OptimusJane86 $927.37; 6 GBecks $734.17; 7 Dealm8ker69 $540.97; 8 pigfacekilla $347.77; 9 Moondiesel1 $270.49

Event #35: $75,000 Guaranteed NLH Low Main Event – ($55+5 buy-in)

The final event of PM III was a $55+5 NLH tournament that had 958 players take the plunge. With $75K in guaranteed money, players were attracted to the five-figure 1st place prize money as the Poker Maximus series just continues to give.

After 11 hours of play it came down to FrotlCM12 and LuckyHoney for the title and both players were more than deserving of the crown. FrotlCM12 had built a bit of a lead when they got Ts,Jd and made a min-raise pre-flop. LuckyHoney wasn’t having any of it with their As,7c and shoved all-in over the top in an attempt to get back to even ground. Well, FrotlCM12 decided to make the call for 1.3 million in chips (blinds were 30k/60k) and hoped this would be it. A flop of 3d,2c,Th paired up the 10’s for FrotlCM12 and now they just had to avoid an Ace. The Qs fell on the turn, and when the Js fell on the river, this one was over as FrotlCm12’s 10,J turned into the winning hand of the event. Congrats to both players for a well-played tournament.
