Event #17: $7,500 Guaranteed 6-Max PLO – ($55+5 buy-in)

After 293 players registered for this event the players had boosted this prize pool to more than double the guaranteed amount at $16,115. This meant that the top 27 finishers would earn some sort of prize money in a tournament that ended up taking over 7 hours to finish.

It was down to MonoYark and XILoveCrocsX at the end in the heads-up showdown and both players were definitely deserving of being there. There was a difference of about $1300 in prize money between 1st and 2nd place so both were trying their best to take down Event #17.

By the end though, XILoveCrocsX had been slowly grinded away and didn’t have enough chips to make one round of blinds. After posting the small blind of 5000 chips, XILoveCrocsX had little choice but to shove their remaining 8600 in and hope for the best. A hand of Td,Jc,8d,2c wasn’t exactly what they hoped for, but at this point the cards really didn’t matter. MonoYark had no choice but to call with the Ts,Ks,8h,3d, and when the board blanked everyone (Ad,Qh,6s,7d,4h), MonoYark’s Ace-high was good enough for the crown.

Final Table Payouts and Prize Winners:

1 MonoYark $3932.07; 2 XILoveCrocsX $2610.64; 3 KingKush777 $1611.51; 4 BehindTheFacade $1208.63; 5 SQUIRELLLLS $999.14; 6 VamonosPest $805.76; 7 rounderAmosSlade $644.61; 8 ichasedraws $515.68; 9 rakeyourpockets $402.87

Event #18: $25,000 Guaranteed NLH Turbo Rebuy – ($55+5 buy-in)

Event#18 was the second No Limit Hold’em Turbo tournament of PMIII and with the one rebuy/add-on feature it attracted a field of 221 players. Turbo tournaments are exactly what the name suggests and after 3 hours of play, we had crowned a champion.

With turbo tournaments you really have to try and catch a few hands and leon3801 and atxpoker22 were lucky enough to do so all the way until the end. However, by that time atxpoker22 was down to under 260K in chips and with the blinds at 40K/80K, he had little choice but to find a decent starting hand and go with it. Leon3801 knew this and when he got the Ad,Td, he just shoved all in, continuing to put the pressure on his opponent.

Atxpoker22 had an ace in their hand too (Ah,8s) and made the call. A flop of 9d,4h,8d put atxpoker22 in the lead with a pair but when the 4d hit on the turn, leon3801 vaulted in front with his flush. Unless another 4 or 8 could hit on the river this tournament was over and when the Ac fell, atxpoker22’s fate was sealed. Congrats to leon3801 for winning Event #18 and taking home over $7K.

1 leon3801 $7005.24; 2 atxpoker22 $4651.02; 3 jimmy11115g $2871.00; 4 ImaFnWiz4rd $2153.25; 5 1MadMarvin1 $1780.02; 6 clintonitis $1435.50; 7 roboalbeia $1148.40; 8 NoApologies $918.72; 9 alsweetbread $717.75

Event #19: $15,000 Guaranteed NLH 6-Max, one rebuy/add-on – ($10+1 buy-in)

After 744 players decided to pony up the $10+1 entry for Event #19 you knew the guaranteed number of $15K would be surpassed. By the time all the rebuys and add-ons were done, the final tally was over $22K that would be split among the top 84 finishers.

It was TiLtdOg and rounderAmosSlade who outlasted them all though and were locked up in a heads-up match that had many swings. These two weren’t afraid to chuck the chips around and when both got big starting hands you knew all the chips were going into the middle. That was the case with the final hand as rounderAmosSlade had Ks,Qc and made the initial pre-flop raise only to see his opponent go all-in over the top with Ac,Kh. The tournament title was on the line and after it was all said and done and the board showed 10-high (3s,9h,7h,5s,Ts) TiLtdOg’s big slick held up and gave him the win.

Final table results:

1 TiLtYdOg $4184.89; 2 rounderAmosSlade $3080.79; 3 YourGoneAA $2270.53; 4 C0me2MaMa $1558.21; 5 GLightfoot74 $1135.27; 6 Morgan2012poker $667.81; 7 YesImLifted420 $467.47; 8 arkadyka $467.47; 9 IamonebadCajunfury $467.47
