On ESPN, we have “Playing for the Mob”, a docu-film chronicling the Boston College point-shaving scandal of the late 1970s, carried out by mobster Henry Hill, Ray Liotta's "Goodfellas" character, and his various associates.  Liotta narrates the film.

Those critics who have gotten an early screening of “Playing for the Mob” appear to have loved it.

The ESPN film airs at 9 pm ET, and that’s great news for fans of poker and other gambling aficionados.

Or is it?

“Playing for the Mob” runs a full 90 minutes and apparently overlaps the highly anticipated Showtime “60 Minutes Sports” segment featuring a rare interview with mega poker star Phil Ivey that airs at 10 pm ET.

And ESPN, unlike say CNN, doesn’t repeat its original series every other hour or day.

There are four segments scheduled to air during the “60 Minutes Sports” program and it would appear Ivey’s segment will be shown first.

All is not lost for those of you who don’t know how to DVR or record.  “60 Minutes Sports” re-airs at 1:45 am ET on Showtime.
