A film about the online poker industry opens in September and stars the likes of Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck.

It remains to be seen how true to form the film actually is.  “Runner Runner” does take place in “a remote island location”, though most of the location shooting occurred in Puerto Rico.

The film involves a poor college student who cracks an online poker game and eventually meets up with the sly offshore gambling entrepreneur he feels cheated him.

The official trailer was released this week with the film scheduled to open in theatres September 27.  If the trailer is any indication, we can surmise that the industry as a whole will not be depicted in the best light (see crocodile eating human scene in trailer).
