Nevada Will Have Real Cash Online Poker

Intrastate online poker for real money is anticipated this coming January in the state of Nevada.  Should legislation pass at the federal level, Nevada would then permit those across state lines to play.  They, the licensed casinos in Nevada, would become the hub for interstate online poker at that point.

A source close to the situation noted that there is some confusion related to Nevada’s passage of a measure that permits real cash online poker and that Gambling911.com is not exactly helping in this regard.

The individual sought to clarify:  “I have noticed you (Gambling911.com) continue to state that the Nevada Law concerning Internet gaming is contingent on Federal approval. Actually, the only part of the law dependent on Federal approval is INTERSTATE deployment. INTRASTATE on line poker will have regulations and technical standards in place by January 31, 2012 and upon final approval of those regulations licenses will be issued and on line play will begin.”

Gambling911.com announced that South Point Poker will be joining the site as a sponsor starting in November.  South Point Poker is the first Las Vegas based brick and mortar casino operation (the South Point Casino and Spa) that will begin offering online poker with others sure to follow.  For the time being (at least for the remaining two months of 2011), South Point will be offering a free-to-play platform.

The South Point Poker site was developed by our good friends at Level Media.
