The Manny Pacquiao World Poker Event

It’s all set.  The Manny Pacquiao World Poker Event will run from December 1 thru 6, 2011 as part of the Asian Poker Tour.  APT director Lloyd Fontillas revealed the schedule to Marv Dumon of the Examiner on Monday.

"Manny will be there either playing in the tournament or playing pool. [Currently] the room has 3 pool tables, we have been instructed to leave 1 behind for Manny to play on," said Fontillas.

APT has accredited the event which gives the tournament credibility in the eyes of poker players in the Asia-Pacific region, Dunon also noted.

Pacquiao is a Filipino professional boxer who is the first eight-division world champion; having won six world titles,  as well as the first to win the lineal championship in four different weight classes.  He is also a Congressman in the Philippines.

The Asian Poker Tour is a major tour that focuses on the Asian-Pacific region.  The first ever APT event was held in Singapore in November 2006 while the APT was still under the management of Singapore-based Capital Events Pte.
