Two successful poker players have been eliminated from the 2011 Punta Cana Poker Classic final table with the field down to 7 by 6:30 pm local time Sunday.

Jose De La Guardia and William Wellmen were both eliminated.

Wellman took 1st place back in January at the Tunica World Series of Poker Circuit Event No Limit Hold’em.

The BetDSI.com Poker qualifier leaves in 7th place and takes home $18,052 for his efforts.

How it went down, courtesy of CrazyJulius:

Demo Kiriopoulas bet light and the action went back to William Wellman, he pushes all in and Demo made the call.
Wellman: 9 9
Demo: KK
Board: 6-Q-4-A-7
The board did not bring any of the two remaining 9’s and the Tunica WSOP-C event Champ hits the rail.
Congratulations William and we hope to see you here next year.

De La Guardia is a successful Panamanian pro who was ousted in 8th place and leaves with $15562.
