EPT100: Estrellas Breaks PokerStars Record: €50K Kicks Off Monday

Estrellas Barcelona Main Event is the Largest Unique Field in PokerStars History
This season’s Estrellas Barcelona Main Event, the debut of #EPT100, is the biggest ever unique field in the history of PokerStars live events. Including players already registered for Estrellas Day 1c tomorrow, the total field already stands at 2,343. (This beats the 2,131 unique players who competed in PokerStars’ BSOP event in Sao Paolo last November.) Estrellas Day 1a had 438 entries, there were 872 players for Day 1b today and Day 1c has 1,033 players registered and only selling alternates. Dutch player Daniel Reijmer is leading the 125 players who survived Day 1a from the 438 who started. He goes in to Day 2 on Tuesday with 209,300 chips. EPT regulars Vallo Maidla, Jacques Zaicik, Andras Kovacs, Andrea Benelli and Andrey Gulyy were also among the survivors. Last season German player Soenke Jahn beat a 1,798-strong field (a record at the time) to win €169,136. Next Thursday's final table will be covered by EPTLive with a cards-up broadcast (one hour security delay).

SUPER HIGH ROLLER STARTS TOMORROW (August 18, 2014)!
The three-day €50k Super High Roller starts tomorrow with more than 30 players already confirmed and at least ten more expected. They include Team PokerStars Pros Jason Mercier, Daniel Negreanu & Vanessa Selbst as well as last season’s runner-up Erik Seidel. Other players will include the EPT10 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final SHR winner Daniel Colman. He snagged more than €1.5m in Monaco and then took down the WSOP’s Big One for One Drop in Las Vegas for more than $15m. He’ll be up against a stellar field tomorrow, including a bunch of EPT Super High Roller champions: Martin Finger (EPT10 London), Scott Seiver (PCA 2013), Fabian Quoss (PCA 2014), Max Altergott (EPT9 Grand Final) and Dan Smith (EPT9 Barcelona). Smith also won this summer’s WSOP SHR for $2,044,766.
