The Godfather of Poker is living up to his name once again. Doyle Brunson has taken over as Captain of Team USA for World Team Poker and will lead the red, white and blues in the unique tournament series that pits country against country en route to a dramatic final for international pride.

World Team Poker is a global poker league featuring a number of international teams representing countries around the world. Led by a Team Captain during each event, each team is comprised of four pro poker players and an alternate. As teams compete in regular season league matches, the Team Captain may substitute players along the way.

The league kicks off with a $50,000 buy-in tournament on May 19 at the Golden Nugget and Brunson will have the opportunity to take players in and out of the event as the game changes from Limit Hold'em to PLO to No Limit Hold'em.

It should come as no shock that Brunson has been tapped to lead Team USA. As the man behind one of the biggest forces in online poker, Brunson is a true leader by nature. At DoylesRoom.com, Brunson is handpicking and guiding the biggest poker legends-in-the-making on The Brunson 10, his team of elite poker players.
