The Best Cake Poker Skins

A lot of Gambling911.com’s US readers are looking for a place to play online poker and one of the options is Cake Poker.  But like with most of the US-facing online poker networks/rooms, and for that matter, most online gambling websites overall, Cake is currently bogged down by limited payment processor options.  This is a result of the April 15 indictments of three online poker rooms – Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and UB.com.  As a result, a number of processing companies left the US market.

Until new options become available, these online poker rooms could take up to a month - maybe longer - to send customers payouts depending on the amounts and requested method.  A note to online poker players, these are very challenging times and there is plenty of reason to be optimistic, however, the US-facing industry (and to a lesser extent, the industry as a whole) has been severely impacted by the events of April 15.  Still, people who want to play poker will find a way to do so online and the savvy gambler will do so with nominal headaches.

Cake Poker is a network that offers what is commonly referred to as “skins”.  They basically provide operators with their own poker room that is integrated into a single network.  Other examples of such online poker networks include Merge Gaming, iPoker and OnGame, just to name a few.

The best Cake Poker skins are those that are part of an already established online sportsbook or casino group.  Full disclosure, Cake Poker is a sponsor here at Gambling911.com.  The individual company poker skins we will point out in this article are not, however.

Members of the Two Plus Two posting community have been quick to point out that PokerWorld.com is a Cake Poker skin backed by The Greek.  And for those of you in the poker world not familiar with who The Greek is, he’s one of the first bookmakers to go online in 1996.  He’s also among the most respected by both his peers and customers.

Like with most of the online sportsbooks, the true profit comes from sports betting and a number of these operators have expressed to Gambling911.com that this recent influx of poker signups is draining their resources.  As such, if you are considering joining PokerWorld.com, we would recommend customers to at least dabble a little in the sportsbook itself.  The Greek is usually among the first to put up a line, we might add.

Intertops.com is another highly regarded online gambling firm operating a Cake skin that also has its own payout platform separate from that of the Cake Poker network.  Intertops.com’s claim to fame is that it was the very first online gambling site to launch and it remains among the most popular.  The online variation of this Austrian betting company was set up by a Brit who later moved on to manage the uber popular sports wagering conglomerate Pinnacle Sports.

Unlike The Greek, Intertops.com tends not to focus exclusively on the sports betting side.  The Antiguan-based company promotes its online casino and poker brands more conspicuously.  In fact, the company of late has begun actively recruiting online poker players.

Customers of Intertops.com report receipt of checks by Fed Ex in approximately 5 business days, which used to be the industry norm.
