Americas Cardroom Doubles SnG Race Prize Pool to $10k this April

San Jose, Costa Rica –Two seems to be the magic number for online poker tournament players this April. Americas Cardroom today announced that this month's SnG Race prize pool will feature 2x what was on the table in March, all while the entire site gears up for the big $200,000 Guarantee this Sunday at 7:00pm ET.

"Our players have responded to last month's $5k SnG Race in record numbers, so we're excited to up the ante with twice the leaderboard prize pool this month," said Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. "Our $10k leaderboard competition is designed for players of all stake levels, and everyone's got an equal chance to race to the top, no matter how they finish."

This April, every time an online poker player enters a Sit 'n Go at Americas Cardroom, they'll rank on the Sng Race leaderboard where a total of $10,000 is on the table. To calculate points, Americas Cardroom multiplies the tournament fee by the number of players, and then divides the total by five. Some SnG award more points than others, so Americas Cardroom has added a points calculator to the SnG Race promo page, where players can see exactly how many leaderboard points are at stake.

Americas Cardroom automatically awards points based on the size and value of the tournament instead of how a player ranks in the SnG. That means players who bust out first will earn the same number of points as players who finish the tournament, giving every player who enters an SnG an equal chance of wining the race. The top 120 players will share in the $10,000, with $1,500 earmarked for the first place finisher.

The doubling of the SnG Race prize pool is just one piece of big news to hit Americas Cardroom this April. On Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 7:00pm ET, Americas Cardroom will hold its massive $200,000 Guaranteed tournament, the biggest single poker tournament the online poker room has ever hosted. Qualifiers and freerolls for the $200,000 Guaranteed Texas Hold'em tournament are now live.
