Reports began surfacing in mid-December that the New England Patriots are set to part ways with their long time head coach Bill Belichick at the end of this season. This all came to fruition on January 11 as
ESPN reported the following:
"Both Belichick and Kraft, as one outside party noted, "took the high road," which was fitting for an owner-coach tandem that will go down as one of the greatest and most decorated in NFL history.
"Belichick, who had one year remaining on his contract, will be allowed to leave the team without the Patriots seeking compensation."
BetOnline was quick to update its odds on where Belichick will coach in 2024 last month. They listed the Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders and LA Chargers as co-favorites.
There are reports that Belichick does not want to retire from coaching, so these odds are definitely still in play and will be updated further so stay tuned and keep checking back here.

ESPN's Adam Schefter suggested back in December that the Panthers would not be the best fit for Belichick.
According to Schefter, Panthers owner David Tepper "will look to hire an offensive-minded head coach, someone who can help quarterback Bryce Young fulfill the potential that Carolina saw when it made him the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft."
Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson were considered the most likely candidates to land the Panthers job.
The Commanders rumors were beginning to get hot late last month.
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated said, “I don’t know that a destination has been determined. I will say this, though: the Washington stuff as been out there for a while. It’s something that’s been talked about in NFL circles for more than the time than it’s been out there in the public."
Then there is the Chargers.
Gary Meyers, a Pro Football Hall of Fame voter and best-selling author, claimed last month: "One of my well-placed sources believe the Chargers are the favorites for Bill Belichick in 2024."
It should be noted that Belichick is reportedly under contract in New England at least through 2024.
