Bogdan Bogdanović is favored to be traded to the Boston Celtics prior to this season's trade deadline at 2-1 odds.

On December 11, 2023, Bogdanović put up a career-high 40 points on 10 three-pointers made in a 129–122 loss to the Denver Nuggets and would later become the first Atlanta Hawks player to score least 40 points and 10 three-pointers in a single game.

Andrew Bernucca of FanSided back in September noted how Bogdanović could provide the perfect fit for Boston.

"He's a career 39-percent three-point shooter on nearly 2,300 attempts, one of the best marks on that volume in the league. But he's never averaged more than 3.8 assists per game in the NBA and is rarely thought of as a pick-and-roll ballhandler.

"Jayson Tatum is one of the best perimeter offensive players in the history of basketball and is the primary reason the Celtics offense looks unstoppable at times. However, he needs to rest sometimes. Either by coming out of the game or at the very least taking fewer on-ball repetitions. That's not an option for Boston deep into the playoffs."

He adds that Bogdanović can fill that void.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
