The season finale for the 6th Annual National Heads-Up Poker Championship presented by GoDaddy.com is this Sunday, May 23 Noon - 3PM ET/9:00-Noon AM PT on NBC. Both of the semifinal matches, as well as the best-of-three final take place in a special three hour finale.
In the Hearts bracket, Celebrity Apprentice runner-up and fan favorite Annie Duke takes on Dennis Phillips, who finished 3rd in the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event. In the Clubs bracket, 1998 World Series of Poker Champion and 5-time bracelet winner Scotty Nguyen faces 8-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Erik Seidel.
The National Heads-Up Poker Championship, which was taped at the Caesars Palace Poker Room March 5-7, features 64 top poker players competing in a series of heads-up (one-on-one games of No Limit Texas Hold'em) matches to determine the best heads-up poker player in the world. This tournament has a unique, single-elimination, bracket-style format modeled after college basketball's championship tournament, except that the finals are the best of three.
