Today's Top Sports Betting Events By Time

Tuesday July 28, 2026 (9:26 am EDT)

Kamil Majchrzak v Tommy Paul - ATP Washington (11 am EDT)

Alex De Minaur v Stefanos Tsitsipas - Tennis - ATP Washington D.C (6 pm EDT) - Alex de Minaur vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas is one of the more interesting betting matches on Tuesday’s tennis slate with above average betting handle anticipated.

San Lorenzo vs. Gimnasia Mendoza - Soccer / Argentinian Primera Division (6 pm EDT) - The attraction is San Lorenzo, another member of Argentina's traditional Big Five. The opponent doesn't bring Racing/Rosario-level drawing power, but San Lorenzo's national following should make this substantially more wagered than a typical Liga Profesional match.

Banfield vs. Sarmiento - Soccer / Argentinian Primera Division (6 pm EDT)

Rosario Central v Racing Club Odds - Soccer / Argentinian Primera Division (8:15 pm EDT) - This is the clear standout for betting volume tonight.  Both are major Argentine clubs with substantial supporter bases, and Racing in particular is one of the country's traditional "Big Five."  Anticipated strong betting volume here.

Argentinos Juniors vs. Estudiantes de Río Cuarto - Soccer / Argentinian Primera Division (8:15 pm EDT)

New Audio Sheds Light on Ohtani Ex-Interpreter's Gambling Scandal

Tuesday July 28, 2026 (8:05 am EDT)

Shohei Ohtani's former interpreter initially told a reporter that the Los Angeles Dodgers slugger had agreed to cover his massive gambling debt but reversed course less than 24 hours later, according to a newly released audio recording.  The interview, which federal authorities later said "created an international incident," is featured in "The Betrayal of Shohei Ohtani," a new six-episode series from 30 for 30 Podcasts. Ippei Mizuhara, the interpreter who said he and Ohtani were "like brothers," initially told ESPN investigative reporter Tisha Thompson in a 90-minute interview that Ohtani helped him pay off debts to an illegal bookmaker. Mizuhara detailed how he started betting with the bookie after meeting him at a poker game and described sinking deeper into debt and eventually approaching Ohtani for help.  "I asked him if he could pay my debt off. He had to give it some thought," Mizuhara said in the first interview.  (source: ESPN)

Federal Judge Halts Minnesota Law Meant to Bar Prediction Markets Within State

Tuesday July 28, 2026 (8:13 am EDT)

A federal judge on Monday blocked Minnesota from banning prediction market trades within the state.  The ruling comes just days before Minnesota’s first-of-its-kind law was to take effect as both KalshiEX and Polymarket fought to prevent the ban. Judge Katherine Menendez determined that the federal regulatory agency and the prediction market companies proved they were likely to prevail at least in part in their lawsuit. The judge said because “they face a threat of irreparable harm,” she would prevent enforcement of the law while the case plays out.  “Kalshi and Polymarket US are designated contract markets, so the CFTC has exclusive jurisdiction to regulate transactions involving those `swaps,’” Menendez wrote in her 44-page ruling. Menendez said in her order that it is possible that some event contracts offered on the site could still be subject to challenge and the injunction could eventually be narrowed.

Tuesday July 28, 2026 (7:52 am EDT)

Andrea Pirlo is out of contention for the Italy job amid political concerns over a sponsorship deal with Russian betting firm Fonbet.  The opposition over Pirlo's betting ties reportedly has Paolo Maldini considering stepping down just 16 days into his new job as the technical director charged with restoring order for the Azzurri.  This after Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti had already turned down offers to coach a national team that has failed to qualify for three straight World Cups. The crisis surrounding Italy's once-proud squad is expanding to new dimensions four months after the four-time World Cup champions were beaten by Bosnia-Herzegovina in a qualifying playoff.
