- Washington Jude Blocks Kalshi in Washington State - This continues to be one of the hottest stories in the gambling space this week as the ruling presents a major blow and latest setback for Kalshi. In a ruling issued Monday, the court granted a preliminary injunction against KalshiEX LLC, finding the state is likely to succeed in proving that the company operates an illegal gambling business in Washington. The judge also determined that Washington consumers could face substantial harm if Kalshi’s activities were allowed to continue while the case proceeds.
- Poll Shows Less Than 25% of NYers Support Online Gambling - According to the Siena Research Institute, only 22% said sports betting is good for New York, while 39% disagreed. Attitudes towards sports betting also differed among bettors and non-bettors and by age group. The poll found that 49% of bettors surveyed supported sports betting, while 14% of non-bettors felt the same way. Of those under 50, twenty-seven percent said betting on sports was good for New York, while 16% of those 50 and over agreed. The poll also found that 25% of New Yorkers bet on a sporting event within the past year. By gender, 37% of men and 14% of women admitted to wagering on a sporting event. When asked how they placed their bets, 84% said it was with an online sportsbook, 54% placed a wager with friends and family, 41% said with a casino, 24% said with a bookie and 8% placed it by other means. - More Kalshi Court Actions - Kalshi has notified the 2nd Circuit in connection with its appeal of the SDNY decision that there are 47 related cases involving prediction markets, States, and Native American Tribes. This covers 9 out of 13 federal judicial circuits. 19 States are in active litigation with PMs.
- LeBron James Next Team Watch - Favorite teams to land Lebron James include the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers. Can't Play With Kalshi From Washington State - WTF?

Judge John McHale of the King County Superior Court said the state showed "a likelihood of actual and substantial injury to Washington consumers from illegal gambling activities" if no injunction (against Kalshi) were issued. "States don't have jurisdiction to regulate prediction markets," Kalshi said in a statement on Tuesday. "We're disappointed to see Washington state continue wasting taxpayer dollars."
