GQ Rates Turner Top Contender for the Role
"For starters, Turner is exactly famous enough to play Bond: he's fairly well known among people who follow film and TV, and your dad might recognize him off Masters of the Air, but he isn't so A-list that his casting would risk overshadowing the role.. That's without accounting for his obvious Dua Lipa-courting charm, charisma up the wazoo, and eyes that you could drown in—all traits that would help him settle into playing the world's best superspy. What's more? He's actually a good actor, as demonstrated in the aforementioned Masters, in which he plays a World War II pilot whose heavy bomber unit boasts one of the highest mortality rates in the entire U.S. Air Force."
Why He Might Not Be Chosen
Perhaps, clocking in at around six-foot-two, he's a little bit tall? But eh, we're probably due a double-O giraffe.
Amazon also wants someone under 30. He's 35.
The Runner Up : Jacob Elordi
Jacob Elordi is coming in as the second choice among the oddsmakers and GQ at 5-1 odds.
"Jacob Elordi is hot right now. He's been hot this whole time, but in terms of cultural capital, he's basically on fire. Long gone are the days of him being shackled to The Kissing Booth movies, and with Euphoria on its way out, there's no long-term commitments standing between the Frankenstein Oscar nominee and the Bond role. He's a director's actor who knows how to wear a suit (and a tiny little handbag); it's kind of a no-brainer."
