The Braintree American baseball team’s storybook run in the Little League World Series came to an end Sunday morning with a 3-2 loss to the Northwest representative from Bonney Lake, Washington.

Braintree’s Henry Kuka allowed six hits and three earned runs while striking out six in a complete-game performance. The pitcher was also responsible for one of his team’s two runs.

Washington scored in the bottom of the first inning when a single by Colton Audette drove in Mason Woods from second, and Braintree answered by plating two to make it 2-1 in the top of the second.

Washington, meanwhile, promises a payout of $1000 for every $100 bet should they go on to win it all.
