If Gambling911.com had been an affiliate of the Doug Polk self-tanner, we'd be millionaires by now.

Nobody - and we mean nobody - delivered more clicks to Polk's lotion.  It was launched three years ago and the website no longer exists.

Bummer.

Hopefully we'll have better luck introducing the world to Owen Hanson's new protein ice cream.

Some of you are probably thinking, "why not just stick to online gambling?"

Well, there's a reason we got this scoop first.

Hanson is the former USC football player sentenced to prison in 2017 for running an illegal sportsbook and a violent drug ring.

Hanson was among 22 charged as part of the investigation with nearly half already pleading guilty.  He played for USC during the years Pete Carroll coached the team as a walk-on tight end, including the 2004 national championship team.

Hanson was initially charged only with coordinating a drug transaction before authorities later learned he had been running the elaborate online gambling enterprise, Macho Sports.

Prosecutors also allege that Hanson trafficked “well over a ton” of cocaine, methamphetamine and Ecstasy in the U.S. and Australia.  He was also implicated in an Australian case tied to a mysterious suitcase filled with $702,000 in cash in 2011.

Court documents showed that the enterprise routinely "used threats and violence against its gambling and drug customers to force compliance”.

Fast forward to last March.  Hanson was released early on good behavior.

He's now reformed and hawking what we hope is delicious ice cream.

"You get so creative in there," Hanson said of prison.  "I'd get a mop bucket and put ice in there.  I'd take these empty peanut butter jars and I'd fill them up with nonfat milk and I'd have like seven of them lined up and I'd fill them up with nonfat milk and then I'd put some protein powder in there from the commissary and I'd get the coffee creamer.

"So I created this brand and I started to slice up some bananas and put peanut butter in each jar and make them somewhat healthy and I'd shake them up and I'd put them in this ice bucket."

Sounds yummy.

Owen introduced the new product over the weekend at the Los Angeles Fit Expo, which took place despite the tragic fires that have been burning throughout much of this month.

No word yet on when it will be out in stores.
