EPT Berlin was interrupted yesterday (Day 4) when an armed robbery took place just outside the tournament area. Nobody was seriously injured and the Main Event, High Roller tournament and Ladies Event all managed to resume within a few hours. (See below for the official EPT statement.)

American online phenom Kevin "ImaLuckSac" MacPhee was already a massive chip leader when the interruption took place and there was no looking back once play resumed. The PokerStars player currently has 6,070,000 in chips, more than a million clear of his nearest rival, Ketul Nathwani from Britain.

In April 2008, MacPhee smashed the PokerStars Tournament Leader Board record and has since amassed more than $100,000 clear profit. He has played numerous EPT tournaments but this is his deepest run in a Main Event. Last October he came second in a £1,000 side event in London, which was won by Ilari Tahkokallio, who is now in 3rd place going into the final table in Berlin.

Among the other finalists are German pro Nico Behling, who made the final table at EPT Warsaw last season, and Ketul Nathwani who was also on the final table of the London PLO/PLHE tourney that was won by Tahkokallio.

Day 4 started with 24 players but the Team PokerStars Pros Jude Ainsworth and Johannes Strassman were among the early eliminations. The popular Danish pro Theo Jorgensen and former EPT Warsaw champion Joao Barbosa from Portgual were also knocked out. The ebullient Stetson-wearing Italian Alfonso Amendola was eliminated in tenth place.
