With the prep races now complete, there are now 24 horses listed for the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby.
The race really needs to avoid last year’s total chaos where more than 10 of the top qualifiers failed to make the race, and then ultimately the debacle where the favorite (Forte) was scratched hours before the race.
We’ve posted updated odds for both the Derby and Oaks, which you can find below.
Fierceness, who comes out of the same stable as Forte and is also trained by Todd Pletcher, is currently the co-favorite. Sierra Leone is also priced at 3/1 atop the board.
Encino needs a dropout from one of the top 19, but he’s seen support following his Lexington Stakes victory and is now 25/1.
