Indiana Pacers Betting Tips, Trends

The Indiana Pacers had dropped out of the Sagarin Ratings top 10 to the 11 spot as of January 17.

The Pacers were in the midst of a grueling six-game road trip and face the Sacramento Kings on January 18 followed by the Portland Trailblazers the next night.  Reserve their energy for Portland?  The Trailblazers have won nine of the last 14 games against Indiana though and only one of the Pacers wins were in Portland.  Indiana has actually had better luck against the Kings, beating them at home in 2021 and 2018.

The Pacers just landed Pascal Siakam though we don't quite know when he'll start playing.  They will likely still be without Tyrese Halliburt for the Kings game.

Pacers Acquire Pascal Siakam

By Wednesday January 17, it was all but official with the payout a cool 2/1.

The Pacers acquired All-Star forward Pascal Siakam as part of a three-team deal that sends Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora and three first-round picks to the Toronto Raptors, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Wednesday.

The New Orleans Pelicans are the third team in the deal, sending Kira Lewis to the Raptors and a second-round pick to the Pacers, sources told ESPN.

Celtics -5 to -7 Pacers: Boston is 7-3 Straight Up in the last ten meetings.  Boston is 3-7 Against The Spread using the current spread. Boston is 1-3 Against The Spread using the current spread in Indianapolis.

Winners and Whiners: "It's highly unlikely that the Celtics will lose again anytime soon. Also, falling victim to the Pacers again probably won't happen, considering that (Kristaps) Porzingis didn't play in the most recent matchup. However, Porzingis started in the first meeting, a 155-104 Boston win.

"He presents a matchup problem that an already weak Pacers defense doesn't need to contend with. Also, his rim defense allows Boston to play more aggressively on the perimeter."

January 5

The Indiana Pacers have been playing quite well as of late.  They had won five straight games coming into their January 5 matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, including back-to-back wins over the Milwaukee Bucks as well as two teams with winning records.

Indiana opened as a -3.5 home favorite across the whole bookmaking spectrum and the line had only moved a half point to 3.  They beat the Hawks by five points in the last meeting but Atlanta has gone 6-2 in the last eight against them.  They other win by Indiana was a blowout.

We do get a number of Pacers 5.18 here.  Dogs have done particularly well in the 3 to 3.5 range however.

Atlanta has won half of their last ten games including against Oklahoma City in their most recent.

We're not quite ready to jump on Atlanta here but Indiana is not particularly attractive here.
