BetOnline this year became one of the few online sportsbooks to post NCAA college football transfer portal betting odds.  Judging by social media responses and traffic, the offering has become quite a hit.

The popular betting company started with just eight quarterbacks.  They included Dillon Gabriel, Cam Ward, Riley Leonard, Dante Moore, Will Howard, DJ Uiagelelei, Dequan Finn and Kyle McCord.

The transfer process goes through the holiday season but gamblers need to act fast. Gabriel received plenty of attention from gamblers but he didn't last long after BetOnline posted his next team odds.  He committed to the Oregon Ducks this past Sunday.

The transfer portal is akin to free agency and has grown in importance every year. Over 1,000 players have entered the portal since it opened on Dec. 4.   And while the vast majority of those individuals are not household names, five of the past seven Heisman Trophy winners have transferred at least once.

By late Monday, Trevor Etienne, Grayson McCall and Tyler Van Dyke were also added to the portal odds board at BetOnline.

MSU fans came out in droves to support BetOnline making Dante Moore the favorite to land with the Spartans.  Non-Spartans supporters, also known as Buckeyes fans, weren't liking those odds.

The transfer portal betting option should prove lucrative for BetOnline.

Players have until Jan. 2, 2024 to enter the portal for their one-time transfers.

We don't anticipate Dave Mason of BetOnline posting odds on all one thousand players but certainly keep an eye out for any new add-ons over these next few weeks.  You won't find these offered at DraftKings or FanDuel.
