The New York Knicks ranked 11th on the Sagarin Ratings. Their rating was coming in at 92.24, down from 93.29 heading into the holiday weekend. They had also ranked at No. 8 on Friday.
December 25
The New York Knicks dropped another game to the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. That makes nine straight but they get another shot at them on Christmas Day.
The Knicks have not been as impressive during the month of December as they've mostly played .500 basketball. They have yet to win more than two in a row since a three-game winning streak from Nov. 28 through Dec. 1.
New York opened as the +2 home dog in this one and that line has since moved to +3.5. Favorites opening -2 to -2.5 over the past two weeks have gone 14-6 Against The Spread.
December 22
The Knicks face off against a Milwaukee Bucks team on Saturday that has beaten them in the last eight meetings. Five of those were by double digits and this one opened at Bucks -2.5. Favorites in the 2 to 2.5 range have gone 13-5 Against The Spread over the last two weeks. This doesn't necessarily bode well for New York.
November 23
The Knicks host the Heat Friday night with the line opening at New York -3 and quickly shooting up to -5.5.
Dru Smith (knee) is out for Miami. Bam Adebayo (hip) and Duncan Robinson (right thumb sprain) are both listed as questionable. Kevin Love (personal reasons) returns to the team.
We get a number of 3.11. The line opened on the money. Dogs have performed especially well in the 3/3.5 range this season (25-7).
Miami is 5-3 in the last eight games against the Knicks but are 1-3 in New York over the last four meetings. Using the current spread, the Heat are 7-3 Against The Spread.
The Heat do have an edge here.
November 18
Charlotte will want to rebound from their 130-99 home loss to Milwaukee last night. New York beat Washington 120-99 on Friday night and now must make the trek to Charlotte.
All things being equal the Knicks should be favored at 5.72. Charlotte has lost five of their last six while New York has won five of their last six.
Ahead of Their Game in Washington
New York has covered the spread in its two games this season against the ten lowest tiered teams according to Sagarin, Charlotte and San Antonio. Washington ranks dead last of all the NBA teams on Sagarin.
The number sat on the -10.5 for New York with 75% of the action.
November 17
In their game on the road in DC Friday night, the Knicks line opened at -7. That's the number we get (-7.06). The line eventually landed on the 10.5, which is a 3.5 point overlay. They'll be heading to Charlotte the next night (Saturday). The Hornets were playing the Bucks in Charlotte Friday night.
New York last played in Atlanta with the number also determined to be accurate (Hawks 0.98). New York covered with a 2-point victory.
Before that, they were a +9.5 road dog in Boston and got beat up bad, 114-98. We got a number of Boston 7.94 indicating a small overlay.
The Knicks played the night before hosting Charlotte and won by 22 points. Our number came in at 11.18 whereas the actual line fell between 8 and 10.5.
