Ottawa Senators Head Coach D.J. Smith Next to Be Fired Odds

The next NHL head coach to be fired odds are really heating up just a few games into the new season.

SportsBetting.ag released their numbers on October 30.  Sitting at the top, Craig Berube of St. Louis at 7-2.

But one hockey analysis says it's time for D.J. Smith of the Ottawa Senators to be the next head coach axed.

"I say yes," said Frank Seravalli as per Daily Face Off. "The Senators woke up in a familiar position on Friday, in last place in their division. By no means do I think their lack of success is all Smith’s fault, but at some point, change is necessary when you continue to achieve the same disappointing results with a roster that we all seem to believe is a pretty good collection of talent."

Smith had the second shortest odds at 9-2.  That pretty much made him a co-favorite along side Berube.

Steve Staios stated a simple objective when he assumed the role of the Senators general manager last week.

“First priority is to instill stability and confidence in the group,” Staios stated.

Senators fans are running out of patience. Senators fans frequently booed their team and even broke out a “Fire D.J.” chant during Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Tampa would go on to win that game.
