Alan "Dink" Denkenson had been in hospice care over the past few months but remained in good spirits until the end.  Many of his long time friends and family came to visit him during this period.

"Hi, this is a family friend of Alan 'Dink'. It is with great sadness that we share that Alan is in hospice. He fought the good fight in the ICU this past week, but he knew it was time to transition to hospice today. He is being given morphine every 4 hours and resting comfortably."

Denkenson passed away peacefully during the early morning hours Wednesday.  Details of his illness were not immediately known.   He was 69.

Dink was also featured in the 2016 documentary "The Best Of It".
