Key Bookie Terms You Should Know

If you are planning on running a bookie website, its incumbent upon you to learn the bookie lingo.

In today's Master Class we look at the various language and terms associated with being a bookie.

Proper Bankroll Management - This term applies to both the bookie and the bettor. 

Allow wagers only on the things you can afford to payout and setting solid odds.

"You can't just go in there and say 'I have an unlimited budget'.  That won't work."

Chalk - This is the term for the favorite. Lakers -6 over the Houston Rockets. 

Knowing what chalk is you have what is called a chalk bettor.  He or she will regularly place bets on the favorites.

"These are not huge risk takers."
