The Houston Texans have the unenviable position of playing in a division that includes the likes of the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars. Then you have the Tennessee Titans going 10-6 last year despite the top heavy talent. Where does this leave the Texans? Well....

All things considered, they actually managed a respectable 8-8 record last year.

From About.com

The Houston Texans continued to build mostly through the draft and may have come up with a couple more key components in offensive tackle Duane Brown, their first-round pick in 2008, and running back Steve Slaton, who was picked up in the third round. Brown is penciled in as the starting left tackle on a young offensive line that has been revamped over the past couple years and appears to be on the rise.

From Athlon

The Texans are clearly on the rise, but just how much higher they will go this season is still in question. Offensively, the key will be getting the running game developed. Injuries have hurt the Texans so much at running back the past two seasons that they have not been able to implement the run-first offense Gary Kubiak successfully ran in Denver. If they can develop that, it will open up more big plays in the passing game for wide receiver Andre Johnson and cut back on the number of times quarterback Matt Schaub gets hit.

The Houston Texans odds of winning more than 7 ½ regular season games has been set at -125. There is definite value in that one at SBG Global.
