The Jacksonville Jaguars 2008 odds are such that this team could conceivably enjoy a better record than the long dominating Indianapolis Colts when all is said and done. The Jaguars 2008 odds for the AFC South were set at near even (+150 at betED.com) whereas the Colts were at the opposite side of the spectrum -140.

Jacksonville was listed with even odds to go either over or under 10 total wins during the 2008 regular season.

Whether the Jacksonville Jaguars become a contender for the 2009 Super Bowl (as the odds suggest) depends on whether they can manage to beat Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. They are 1-8 against the two of them over the last nine games.

According to Athlon, the big question mark remains the Jaguars pass rush.

But they have addressed that issue by drafting Derrick Harvey and Quentin Groves in the first two rounds of the draft.

"The Jaguars are a top tier NFL team that could certainly make a run at a championship in 2008," writes Will Brinson of the AOL Fanhouse. "Which is kind of scary when you consider that they're relying on a quarterback who threw three picks last year (seems tough to repeat), a running back tandem with an elderly half, a slightly depleted defensive line and a horrid, horrid set of wide receivers. But that's what they were operating with last year too, and things worked out just fine. Anything less than a playoff spot would be a disappointment, and you have to think this is the year the Jags plan on busting the hump that is the AFC South game."
