As is the case with most horse races, the 2009 Breeders Cup Las Vegas and track odds will often differ from those of their online counterparts.  Sometimes, the Vegas and track odds are more appealing, though also more difficult to bet.

Below you will find the Vegas odds as of Friday night.

Contenders with better payout odds online include 2nd favored Zenyatta.  She was being offered up at +300 odds at Sportsbook.com compared to 5/2 track.  The payout would be around $50 more per $100 bet at Sportsbook.com.

Colonel John was another example of a big payout online.  He would pay nearly double what Vegas would at +2200 odds at Sports Interaction.

Sports Interaction also offered better payout odds on Mine That Bird, Summer Bird, Girolamo and Regal Ransom.

Sportsbook.com offered better payouts on Richard's Kid and Gio Ponti in addition to the heavily bet on Zenyatta.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
