I know many small local bookies that only offer lines of NFL/CFB games. It’s not difficult to set the lines for a couple sports by copying them from other online sportsbooks.

Moving the lines with the market is still a difficult job, though, regardless of how many sports you’re offering your clients. It’s also extremely important to move the lines with the market.

Imagine trying to set lines for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, UFC, among other sports, on a daily basis.

There’s simply not enough time in the day to set the betting lines by yourself while updating them as the market moves, which happens 24/7. You’d never be able to sleep.

However, when you join a pay-per-head sportsbook solution they not only provide the software to run your online sportsbook, but they have odds managers to maintain all of the betting lines.

While you let the experts handle the odds, you can focus on building your player base, which will be made easier, as you’ll now be offering a much wider selection of sports to bet on.

Sports Markets Available to PPH Bookies

This list isn’t exhaustive and some PPH shops won’t offer all of these sports markets, but this list will give you a general idea of the sports you can offer when you become a sports betting bookie.

Football: You’ll be able to offer football betting markets for the NFL, college football and CFL in Canada. The football season is the busiest time for bookies in North America.

Basketball:    The NBA is where most of the basketball action is, but PPH sportsbooks will also be able to offer their clients odds on college basketball and the WNBA.

Baseball: The MLB season helps a lot of bookies operate year-round. Baseball   betting helps out when the other major US sports are in the off-season.

Hockey: You’ll be able to provide markets on the NHL and multiple European hockey leagues such as the KHL (Russia), SHL (Sweden), Liga (Finland) and ExtraLiga (Czech Republic).

Fighting: Provide betting markets for MMA and boxing events throughout the year. Both of these sports are popular among sports bettors and will increase your turnover.

Soccer: There are lots of international bettors to target and they predominantly wager on football (soccer). You’ll be able to offer markets on leagues around the world.

Those are the main sports, especially for the North American market, but you’ll also be able to offer betting markets on tennis, golf, rugby and special events such as the World Cup and Olympics.

You don’t need to be an expert or even know anything about these sports to offer them to your clients, as you don’t need to worry about setting the betting lines.

Just keep an eye on your reports and make sure players aren’t consistently beating you on certain sports or else you may want to restrict them from betting on that sport or lower their limits.

There’s no reason not to diversify your sports offering as a bookie owner.

What makes a sportsbook reliable?

Choosing a sportsbook shouldn't be based solely on the size of the welcome bonus or the most eye-catching odds. After all, there's one factor that always makes the biggest difference: trust.
